MARK SAMPSON BIOGRAPHY

Mark Sampson was a regular at the Six Bells Folk and Blues Club, Chiddingly, and at The White Horse, Bodle Street (both East Sussex). His compositions 'Seagulls' and 'The Battle of Lewes 1264' appeared live on CDs recorded at the respective venues. He appeared with local musicians Terry Lees, Chris Mansell, Dave Dyke, and Big Jim of The Weedkillers.

Since relocating to London in the late 90's, to read History at Goldsmith's College, he has appeared on 'The New Cross: An Angular Sampler' with 'The London Eye'.

He plays at venues in the New Cross area, including at The Paradise Bar, where he has appeared with Christy, Drezone, Ceri James, Jack Knife Kid, The Swear, Luxembourg, The Long Blondes and others.

His single 'Seagulls' is fast selling out. It is backed with 'Brighthelmstone', his composition about the city of Brighton and Hove. And new single 'The London Eye' is selling swiftly too.

For the future, Mark aims to play regular gigs over a wider area, record another single and ultimately an album.

His style is acoustic, his lyrics include topical commentary while never losing sight of the past.
